Spotlight Sunday Guides - Out And About With Paris House, NYC
I recently visited the reopened Frick Collection in New York City after a multi-year restoration project, its most extensive since its opening in 1983. It is spectacular. Along with the art, furnishings, and ceiling murals on the second floor (open to the public for the first time), there is a gorgeous gift shop featuring stunning jewelry, as well as a cafe that will be opening soon. A must-visit is the Porcelain Garden by Vladimir Kanevsky, which is on display until October 6th. The art is flawlessly paired with various works by Vladimir, and it is exquisite. From the Boucher room, with its masterful paintings, indoor garden, reflecting pool, and works by Turner, Rembrandt, Manet, Boucher, El Greco, and more, I was deeply moved.
While the Frick Museum is a place of beauty and inspiration, it also holds a sense of mystery. The museum's policy on photography is strict, except for the indoor garden and reflecting pool, adding to the allure of the museum. This exclusivity makes each visit a unique and personal experience, leaving you with a sense of anticipation and a desire to explore.
