Versailles Art Exhibit

Chateau Versailles Guillaume Bresson Contemporary Art Exhibition Palace of Versailles

During my recent visit to Chateau Versailles, arranged by William Vincent Mocerino, a Marketing Tourism Executive at McArthurGlen Group Giverny France, I had the pleasure of experiencing the extraordinary. Every detail of my days with William and his colleagues was perfectly planned. William suggested we attend the Guillaume Bresson exhibit, a unique blend of contemporary art housed in rooms of opulent period decor and hundred-plus-year-old artwork. Surprisingly, this combination was not jarring, but rather felt cohesive, as if centuries of violence in both art genres flowed flawlessly, allowing the viewer to interpret. This exhibit, with its thought-provoking elements, makes you think and pause for long moments, taking in every brilliant detail- the folds and creases on the clothing, expressions on the subjects faces, mysterious persons in the backgroun. The violence sometimes felt like a ballet, both frightening and beautiful. As in all art and paintings, it is left to the individual to interpret, so I will leave you to form your thoughts. The article and photos below are courtesy of The Versailles Foundation. This and many other tours on our adventures together in Versailles and Giverny will be featured in our upcoming Paris House Sunday Guides magazine. Due to the timing of this exhibition, we want to share it with you before it closes. I hope it will travel to the States; I will be sure to update you if and when I receive more information.

I am deeply grateful to all those who were involved in making this day and the entire week in Paris truly unforgettable. Your efforts and contributions have left a lasting impression on me.

With warm regards, Michele, editor and chief
