In this month’s Sunday Guides, we will journey through Mallorca Spain, highlighting our favorite spots.

Spain is a destination loved by many, with its rich history, culture and the home of Paella. If you are a foodie, the Spanish Desserts such as Ensaimada, fresh seafood, Sangria, Cava wine and Tapas will delight. Dine under watercolor sunsets while exploring seaside villages. Walk along streets with pink homes draped in bougainvillea.

Each morning, we sat outside planning our day over coffee, fresh squeezed juice & breakfast, a map in hand. There is something so wonderful about the feel of a paper map and all the joyous adventures ahead that one will plan!

Mallorca is situated in the Balearic Islands, Illes Balears off the coast of Spain. You may wish to plan your trip to include Madrid, or perhaps Barcelona to see

Gaudi’s Catalan Modernism before heading off to Mallorca. In this issue we are sharing our favorites. We rented a car and toured the beautiful island exploring villages, bakeries, scenic views of the sea perched high above it all. Travel along with us in this delightful issue!

Hotel Cappuccino

Hotel Cappuccino is situated in a beautiful oasis in the heart of Palma, only a few steps from the many important architectural sites, shops & restaurants.

Over a 5 year period, working closely with designer Jacques Grange, the team met monthly in Paris to create a vibrant design.

The rooms & hotel were brought to life with thoughtful designs & a nod to the culture of Mallorca and those who have inhabited it for centuries.

Enjoy dining on the terrace, sip impeccably curated cocktails at the bar surrounded by art, & take in the fashionable elegance of Palma.

Pack a bathing suit and stylish coverups and spend time at the rooftop pool terrace. Its intimate size, comfortable seating, beverages & views of the old town are certain to delight you.

Explore Quaint Villages

We enjoyed mapping out our adventures. We rented a car and explored the island together!

Sea Views

Enjoy breathtaking scenic drives along the coast, stopping off at Mirador Es Colomer Formentor.

Dreamy Beach Clubs, Formentor Playa

We rented a car to make our way up to the Formentor Peninsula. While navigating hairpin turns, we were rewarded with breathtaking views as we drove to this beautiful beach located in the northern tip of Mallorca.

Relax under Palapa umbrellas while sipping delicious pina coladas! Swim in warm, crystal-clear turquoise water and if a break from the sun is needed, the beach is surprisingly lined by pine trees. This is a must visit.

If time permits, continue your journey to Cap de Formentor, the farthest point on the island, overlooking the gorgeous Mediterranean.

Cala Deià

This charming beach is nestled in a rocky cove in the Tramuntana Mountains overlooking the turquoise sea. If a beach could be in a fairytale then Cala Deià would be it.

We loved its off-the-beaten-path location, and the delicious leisurely lunch we had at Ca’s Patró March restaurant. The views are stunning and the seafood was some of the freshest and most delicious we have ever had.

My husband swam from the beach to the restaurant where he made a lunch reservation. We enjoyed delicious sangria with fresh fruit soaked in rioja wine while overlooking the captivating views of the sea. You can get there by boat, we chose to take a 30 minute walk down to the beach, exploring along the way.

There is also a parking area closer to the beach. We recommend bringing cash in the event you wish to take a taxi back up and incase the restaurant only accepts cash at the time you are there. It’s always best to be prepared. We highly recommend you make one as far in advance as possible as they do book up fast.

Plaça de Toros & Alcúdia

Alcúdia is one of Mallorca’s most beautiful towns with an ancient Roman history, located in the Northern region of Mallorca. Enter the walled village at the impressive gate, walk along the wall passing by the many towers inside.

The Old Town has a vibrant market, restaurants, boutiques, and stunning ancient architecture, all inside a fortified medieval wall. The Sunday market is impressive and filled with local crafts.

Nearby is Plaça de Toros, the open air bullring, which today is used for concerts and various events throughout the year. There are Roman archeological ruins, quiet beaches, outdoor cafes and much more to enjoy nearby. You will love this historic and lovely town.

Espadrille Shopping

Bring home a few pairs of locally crafted espadrilles. Shops are steps from Hotel Cappuccino in Palma.

Palma Cathedral

Cathedral of Palma, commonly known as La Seu, the "Cathedral of the Sea", is a Gothic monument rising above an old mosque. Enjoy stunning views of the Balearic Sea during your visit.

Royal Palace of La Almudaina

Almudaina Palace is a 13th-century Arab fortress that continues to serve as the summer residence for Mallorca's rulers.

Although converted to Gothic style under Jaume II, elements of Islamic architecture remain. Illuminated Moorish arches create a stunning evening view from the seafront. Inside, you will find furnishings, paintings, and tapestries which represent various time periods throughout the Palace’s history.

The courtyard was originally designed in 1309. Pass by palm trees on your way to the royal chapel, Capella de Santa Ana.
