Editor’s Letter

I am writing this letter from 30,000 feet, where I find clarity away from daily distractions. Our dedicated team produces, writes, creates, and designs each issue of Sunday Guides magazine, often exceeding 300 pages.

As our media, lifestyle, beauty, and production company expands, we are pleased to highlight our progress through the Sunday Notes newsletter, our updated website homepage, and Daily Parlor stories on Style, Travel, and Home, which focus on the pillars of our boutique business.

We also produce and style fashion photo shoots at our urban studio and in our home & gardens, build portfolios, plan events and floral designs for longtime clients, and share stories from our Maine cottage.

Summer is an ideal time to relax with a good book, especially by the water. In this issue, we revisit Maine and offer a print edition for your travels, whether you are heading to New England, Éze in France, or staying local. If you are planning a backyard barbecue, beach dinner, or pool party, you will find a variety of recipes, ideas, and travel guides in this month’s magazine.

We launched a dinner party book club under twinkle lights at our lakeside cottage in Maine. These ideas can be adapted for gatherings of any size. Enjoying long summer evenings with friends is what makes this season special.

The Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands are made up of three Caribbean islands: Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman. Together, they span about 22 miles. Christopher Columbus first saw them in 1503. Now, more than 88,000 people call the islands home.

The warm, sunny weather all year attracts visitors from around the world. A lot of visitors head to Grand Cayman for Stingray City to swim with stingrays and snorkel—we did that on a past trip.

This time, we’re looking for tasty food, friendly hospitality, relaxation, and quieter beaches. Walking along Seven Mile Beach is always a treat, especially with a piña colada, a cold local beer, and some great food in the middle of the action. On this trip, we’re also exploring less crowded spots.

Grand Cayman is known for its amazing food scene. You can choose from over 200 restaurants and enjoy unforgettable Caribbean dishes.

Bonny Moon

Bonny Moon has been a popular spot for more than 30 years, always lively day and night. It sits on the white sands of Seven Mile Beach, with loungers and sunset drinks. It’s a great place to go after brunch for lunch or dinner, and the tapas are made with fresh local ingredients. If you enjoy live music and dancing, check out the beachside DJ every Saturday night. Be sure to catch happy hour at the Bodeguita Lounge and Bar as the sun sets.

Enjoy a meal in a seaside garden surrounded by pastel colors. Try the cheese bread with red pepper aioli and the scotch bonnet raspberry mocktails.

For your beach day, pack your favorite swimsuits and let your hair dry in the sun. We’ve shared our top hair products. Start with sunscreen for healthy skin and natural makeup.

Enjoy delicious local Caribbean food and mudslide cocktails while watching a beautiful sunset. People say the Mudslide cocktail was invented here. We tried them and loved them. The pavlova and fresh seafood dinners are also worth trying. This spot is a must-visit.
