This novel introduces us to Zippy, a 19-year-old protagonist whose journey from a modest upbringing to a coveted job at the I-Magnin department store in San Francisco is both relatable and endearing. Zippy's likeability stems from her humble beginnings, growing up with her mom in a one-bedroom apartment above a liquor store. The book, with its undeniable charm; it lacks a clear narrative arc and features a somewhat unrealistic storyline. However, it's a fast read, and the brisk pace keeps you engaged. As she navigates life without college as an option, she often wonders about her birth father. You will find yourself rooting for Zippy until the very last word.

Binge Watch
Sirens
I'll be honest: I binge-watched this primarily for the Nantucket decor, fabulous kitchen, and beach location. I now want to paint my center island green! I will watch anything that Julianne Moore stars in, as she is one of my favorite actresses. It was silly, fun, and something to watch where you don't have to think; you follow along in a bit of confusion as it's all very ludicrous. The ending, unfortunately, was a letdown, and I'm sure many of you will agree. But upon reflection, I get it!
Collecting
The late 19th-century Carl Teilsch Altwasser Porcelain of Germany, a Divided red Lobster dish, dates to 1887. This part of my collection was a heartfelt gift from my children for Mother’s Day, making it all the more special. I also have a pink lobster-divided dish marked Limoge. They are not just gorgeous for display on an antique hutch or wall, but also spectacular for serving cold summer dips and lobster salads, each use is a reminder of the love and thoughtfulness that went into these gifts.
